When it comes to plus size wedding dresses and gowns, Kiyonna takes pride in helping brides say yes to the dress. We love to hear their stories and the journey it took to find the perfect dress.

We are extremely happy to share our interview with our bride Alexandra on her special day with her husband, Kane!

How did he pop the question or how did the proposal go down?

He proposed when we came home after a night out with friends. He knew I didn’t want a public proposal, so it was sweet moment just for us.

Where did you two meet?

We met at a local pub. He played for a local band that I’d seen many times, but I had never spoken to him. We hit it off immediately, and we’re engaged a year later.

Looking back, what is the most memorable moment on your wedding day?

The memory that strikes me most is the look on his face when we were pronounced husband and wife. It was sheer joy.

Please share your journey for wedding dress shopping.

Truthfully, the Aurora dress was the only dress I tried on. My experience was completely stress free, it was wonderful.

What kind of style of wedding dress were you looking to wear on your day?

I knew I wanted a tea length, lace, and sleeves. I was looking for something timeless, a dress that will still be beautiful in our wedding photos years from now.

Why did you say “yes” to this Kiyonna dress?

It fit the vision I was looking for, fit like it was made for me, was incredibly affordable, and the quality was exquisite. I ordered it with high hopes, and I was not disappointed.

How was your shopping experience with Kiyonna?

Excellent! The dress arrived quickly, in perfect condition. It fit true to size and needed no alterations.

Did you add an element to your wedding that was non-traditional or unique to you and your husband?

We eloped privately, so I suppose that is somewhat non-traditional in itself, however, I made our tiny little wedding cake. I make cakes for a living, it only made sense to make our own wedding cake.

Is there anything you would have done differently the day of your wedding?

Not a single thing. Our day was so relaxing, slow paced, and tranquil. We were able to soak in every moment.

What advice would you give a bride to be?

Keep your partner at the center of your wedding planning and you can’t go wrong. You can’t lose your vision if you are celebrating your love!
