Nothing brings us more joy than being able to help our brides find the perfect dress for their special day. We are honored that Cindy was able to find a gown that made her feel beautiful. Even with a pandemic, she was able to have the wedding of her dreams, and we’re so happy we could be a part of it. Here is her story:

How did he pop the question or how did the proposal go down?
It all started on June 15th. We were celebrating our 4 year anniversary. We went horseback riding to the Hollywood sign. We then went to the beach where we walked by the water and he knelt down on one knee with the waves crashing onto our feet and he told me our love was as deep as the ocean and he asked me to marry him….AND I SAID YEEEESSS!!

Where did you two meet?
We met at work. I was assigned to train him and show him the ropes. It wasn’t love at first sight hahaha. Until 5 months down the road… he was my knight in shining armor. He knew exactly what to do when I got rear ended after a coworker’s birthday celebration. We haven’t  spent a day without each other ever since.

Looking back, what is the most memorable moment on your wedding day?
My aunt surprised me with my late mother’s jewelry and asked me if I wanted to wear it so a piece of her was with me on my big day.  That meant a lot to me. I could feel her with me. Another memorable thing was walking down the aisle and seeing him look at me and his glasses instantly fogged up!

Please share how your journey for wedding dress shopping went.
Kiyonna was the second place I went to try on dresses. The first place had a limit of only 5 dresses I could try on, but all of their stock was kept in plastic bags and nothing was in my size. Being a tall and busty woman, it left me more than discouraged in my pursuit to find a wedding dress. That is until my cousin Jarely came across Kiyonna’s website and all the dresses and models looked amazing, curvy and beautiful.

What kind of style of wedding dress were you looking to wear on your day and did you end up wearing the style that you expected to wear?
I was thinking of a knee length or a high-low dress because our ceremony was more casual and relaxed. I was definitely going for a sleeve dress and something slimming. I ended up falling in love with the floor length Sweet Serenity Wedding Gown. It was perfect right when I tried it on.

Why did you say “yes” to this Kiyonna dress?
The dress I chose made me feel confident, comfortable and beautiful! It also had pockets where I kept some tissues for the expected tears of joy and pure glee.

We understand that shopping online for a wedding dress can be risky and daring, so how was your shopping experience with Kiyonna?
We  realized the actual store was about 30 minutes away in Anaheim CA. I called the next day and made an appointment. Right when you walk in you’re embraced with a warm welcome and oh my goodness the store is beautiful inside! I was able to try on soo many dresses and they all fit like a glove.  The associate that helped me was so incredible and nice. She just kept bringing me so many options. Overall, it was the best shopping experience I’ve had for something I expected to be stressful.

What is one non-traditional thing you did (it can be anything from the wedding planning, to the ceremony to the reception, or COVID-19- related)?
We didn’t have a big catholic wedding. COVID-19 definitely put a damper on having a big wedding, especially because we wanted to be responsible and safe for us and everyone. Our venue had a 4 guest maximum but was broadcasted online to our closest friends and family.

If there was anything you would have done differently the day of your wedding, what would it be?
Other than we would of loved to have invited more people, we wouldn’t change a thing it was wonderful and just how we envisioned it.
